Question cambelt change time.....

Just about to do the cambelt, idlers & tensoner on my car. Just wondering if its normal practice to change the water pump at the same time whilst its all apart? Do subaru water pumps fail ever? Are the orignal fins plastic or metal?
Cheers, Steven.

I did mine about 6 weeks ago, the water pump had started to make a grinding sound like a dry bearing, It had done 62k.

Yeah mine has done about 60k so maybe should change it anyway? It does'nt get much use but when it does its used for track days so is driven hard.
