Stupid f**king bikers
Bit of sunshine and the idiots are out on their bikes again
Just taken the scoob for a bit of a run (maf has gone so very gentle just to keep her running fine ) so 5 miles, 2.5 up the road and 2.5 miles back down.
Have a vauxhall behind me and a biker behind him, so coming up to my house, indicate to turn right, start braking, check mirrors, car coming the other way but thats over 100m down the road, turn in and there he is, wrong side of the road, slamming on his anchors nearly making a new impression in my car, are they just f**king stupid? do they not give themselves enough room to see the car at the front of the queue is turning right?!
There are enough holes in the dry stone walls around here because of idiots on bikes, if this one isnt lucky he will be putting one more in there

As a biker and fast car owner, the few ruin it for the majority........ I am sure there will be a thread on some forum about the fast car/Subaru owning idiot
Just a thought, as we all have an opinion about other road users at times

I used to ride a GSXR but gave it up due to too many morons in cars not looking where they are going, pulling out of junctions & lastly wanting to live a little bit longer. So its not just bikers who are idiots on the roads alot of car drivers are too, that said a few do seem to think they are invincible when summertime comes.

I chose to have an exo-skeleton of steel for just that reason...
My pal once "bitched" about some old geezer pulling out of a lay-by, thus forcing him to take avoiding action, he eventually admitted to doing 135 mph at the time !

I had it yesterday with some bellend on a bike on Thursday, I was in my work van on a main road, he rode all the way up the road forcing his way passed everyone, overtaking on the ghost island which runs all the way up the road, part of which has a Right turn filter lane to turn into my estate. Because of him riding on the ghost island he caused two cars infront of me to swerve back into the main traffic!
I don't think I've ever witnessed any Biker (cruiser bikes excepted) stay within speed limits or be considerate to other road users, yet it's always the drivers fault

Sadly its going to get worse. The ones I meet on my commute think they can filter at any speed of traffic. Becuase of this, I look out for them, but I have seen quite a few close calls at all speeds.
Saying that, most of them do have manners, I usually ride the white line on drivers side in the outside lane anyway , but they know I've seen them as I fold my mirrors in and they come through. All but 1 always say thank you.
Its the weekend only power rangers that scare me. Round here its country roads and usually I hear sirens once a weekend.

At least there doing there bit for organ donation!
Why is it, they always insist on riding about 6inchs off your rear bumper yet if you do that to them after theyve dangerously passed you, its all fist shaking and wagging fingers?
Im sure there are many sensible, good riders out there but theres a hell of alot of *****, riding mainly the superbikes.
Anyway, as long as no one else gets hurt, let them carry on as they do help out with the organ donar shortage!

The age old biker agrument of a 'few' ruining it for the rest doesn't hold water. A large percentage of bikers (especially in the dry - they're a bit more sensible when it's wet) take huge risks and put other road users at risk. The tailgaiting, over aggressive overtakes, using the whole road to go round bends etc etc is almost constant. I was on a long drive this weekend (16 hours on a mix of roads) and the vast majority of bikers took incredible risks. I'm tired of the onus being on the car driver - 'think bike' is the slogan isn't it? Think 'don't' ride like an anus' is a bit more like it. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just themselves they hurt, but it's the others around them that get affected that I feel sorry for. Here in Somerset there are quite a few head ons involving bikers who approach bends on country roads far too quickly and end up drifting to the wrong side then 'bang'. We're supposed to feel sorry for the biker - what about the traumatised car driver who has done nothing wrong but has to life with the carnage of a bike smash?
Saying all that, I do feel sorry for the sensible bikers who do it year round and not just in the summer.

Hi,
We live by the side of a rural road in warwickshire - from october to march you don't see (or hear) the IDIOTS, the rest of the year come Sunday it's like a fecking race track. No consideration for anything and even worse no road sense. If I raced my car around like that it's guaranteed I would get pulled in about five minutes

HI Tony,
Law unto themselves bikers, smallest, but admitedly quick, things on the road but take up most room.
Listen out for some of the 'Think Bike' ads on the radio, one in particular actually states that ' bikes can overtake on both sides' quite what part of the highway code that is in I don't know.

Supposedly they should use their brains, better than having them splattered all over the road.

DO NOT overtake where you might come into conflict with other road users. For example
•approaching or at a road junction on either side of the road
•where the road narrows
•when approaching a school crossing patrol
•between the kerb and a bus or tram when it is at a stop
•where traffic is queuing at junctions or road works
•when you would force another road user to swerve or slow down
•at a level crossing
•when a road user is indicating right, even if you believe the signal should have been cancelled. Do not take a risk; wait for the signal to be cancelled
•stay behind if you are following a cyclist approaching a roundabout or junction, and you intend to turn left
•when a tram is standing at a kerbside tram stop and there is no clearly marked passing lane for other traffic

The Department of the Environment (DOE) has published the Northern Ireland Road Safety Strategy (NIRSS) to promote an integrated approach to the planning, co-ordination and delivery of the Government’s road safety activities over the next decade.
It has identified the vulnerability of motorcyclists stating that motorcyclists should be encouraged to ride safely and “around 65% of collisions involving motorcyclists are caused primarily by other road users”.

Up here 1 in 10 accidents are motorcyclists, of which 90% are single vehicle accidents....
Considering they are probably less than 5% of the road users, there is some issue!

Fair point Tony. I have a bike and a car and enjoy them both and I would be the first to admit I have seen some poor riding in my time.
The point I was making was that most of the complaining posts above involve biker's interaction with other road users and in cases where those accidents occur statistics show it’s usually not the biker's fault.
I do find it some what amusing that a minority group (enthusiast who enjoy performance cars) who are often vilified by the wider public as driving unnecessarily loud, fast, fuel guzzling vehicles, like to get on the soap box and complain about another minority group (bike enthusiasts) who enjoy vehicles that are perceived as being unnecessarily fast, loud, etc. You have to admit it is somewhat ironic?
