Default Insurance Advice....

Hi All,

I am just about to buy a Scooby and be back in the club!!!! Has been too long too....

I am unsure what to advise the car insurance campanies as it has a few mods!

It is a 2003 WRX with the following mods:-

Prodrive Performance Pack
Prodrive 18" Alloys
Prodrive Suspension Upgrade
Front AP Brake Upgrade

My question is do I have to advise the insurance company of all the above?

Your advise is very welcome, also if you can recommend a good insurance campany that would be great!

Cheers

Obviously there are lots of companies that will insure you. but there are probably ones that individuals rely on.

I use Adrian flux, A-plan and Keith Michaels for quotes as a matter of course. This is my experience of a modified car. I dont use them for my 'noraml subaru/cars'.

Your needs dictates more than anythimg else and matching those to a company/broker

I use Adrian flux but as a broker their underwriters are Norwich Union now Aviva. . . you could try going straight to them as Adrian flux seem to make a bit of money on top and never seem to pass on any benifits as every year it seems to go up and not down????? Im also due for a renewal and want to get a better quote this year so if you do hear of a good deal. . . please let me know :O)

Yes you do have to declare them as they are not part of the cars original specification and will probably make a claim troublesome.
Speak to a specialist such as Keith Michaels or Aplan.

Hi, thanks for the info. I have done a quote search on confused.com. I listed all the mods and got a quote for £440.00. Has anyone else been able to get a quote this low or even cheaper. Thanks

Interesting you say Aviva... I used M&S and got a quote of £695 (just turned 25) fully comp, £270 excess, key care and full works RAC breakdown. 97 T2000 with stainless exhaust and 260 hp declared. They're underwritten by Aviva!!

I would agree doing straight to Aviva
