Well as long as its not white you will be ok
Lots of things to list, rear shocks are a bit of a killer, they can go, full service history is a must most of the time, really you need to give a better description, UK cars are different to JDM cars from 2003 onwards, 2005 cars have the revised interior and DCCD as standard (plus the wider track).

Hi Tony, i'm looking to get one that's around 03/04 reg and preferably a UK car as it will be cheaper to insure, will be getting one with FSH or at least the majority of it if possible. Any other major problems/issues that are common? Thanks

go for one with lower mileage and as few owners as possible also look out for one with the prodrive performance pack as it will have 305 bhp instead of 260

7k is a bit restrictive, if you can go more then you open up for much better choices of vehicles, dont pay over the odds for MY03/04 cars! some stupid prices when you can pick a better one up for 2k less

JDM import (check to see it has quick rack and A-DCCD, GL version and not a KL)
Nothing wrong with the JDM versions either, insurance is still group 20, you may notice little or no difference, engines are different, these are twin scroll units, far better than the uk cars, no burble due to equal length headers but far better power band and lots of other extras you dont get on uk cars

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1674859.htm

Could be worth looking at, very cheap for an MY05, be careful, check for HPI, fssh etc

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1379562.htm

Good looking UK MY05 car, note the flared rear arches and center console are different to earlier cars, some 2004 cars are incorrectly marked up and you could get a bargain

Avoid cars that say "decat" but no mention of a remap, its living on borrowed time

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1524320.htm

Something in your price braket (nearly) fssh etc

Sorry when you say MY03, what does the MY stand for? i'm new to all this subaru terminology haha. and twin scroll is the turbo design right? and when you say no burble, do you mean the sound the car makes? and i presume then a decat does the engine/ecu no good, or what problems does this cause? sorry about all the questions, i'm just trying to learn a bit more about them, thanks again, Seb

Model Year = MY

Everything you said is Ok........some Scoobies don't like de-catting as it improves airflow which the ECU and Trurbo aren't expecting.

I'd try and stretch to £9k, have a look around and post a link on here

Ok thanks, so a jdm model isn't going to have the nice subaru engine note? subarus i have seen sound amazing. Problem is, my budget was lower, was going to for a classic originally, then thought will strectch for a bugeye, then thought why not stretch to a blobeye haha, so i will probably have to stick to around the 7/8k mark. thanks for your replies, Seb
