Default What a great Feeling

Took car to garage other day to have wheels balanced or at least looked at, and they loaned me a hyundai I30 Classic, 200 miles on the clock.

Off i went couldnt overtake tractors u know the score, But although very plasticy inside like the scooby drove nice, but id have to question spending 12k on 1 over a 2nd hand golf or summat.

Anyways all day i scooted about in my red power house and then went to pick up my scooby.

Bloody hell it was like getting a new car, felt like a rocket.

So i reakon we should all spend at least 1 day a month in the wifes or dads car, then go back to our own for that revived feeling

I spend all week driving my 1995 '55' escort van, when I get into my '555' at the weekends it still shocks me at how quick it feels, but by sunday the scoob feels normal again!! lol

I know what you mean (doesn't take long really to get used to the Scoob again).
I've been driving a Renault van on & off all week and its so much fun getting into my Subaru at the end of the day. I never realised how low down my WRX seating position was until I'd spent all day sitting upright driving a van. And the performance difference is Ace

you are spot on, I love getting an i30 as a courtesy car and then picking up my scoob - it feels like a jet powered mental machine for the first 30 mins back in it!

Thats ok I drive a bus all day and believe me its the only time I can floor the foot pedal and not break a 20mph speed limit, it takes foreva to move.

So is a delight to drive my scooby again. Just have to remember my bus can't handle like a scooby to lol

I have been given a new impreza (non turbo) as a courtesy car for the last few services and still can't believe it had a 2 litre engine in it. The key fob said so, as did the subaru man, but it had so little power. It was a stark reminder of what ordinary cars are like. The wrx felt incredible on the drive home, not just for pace, but for the phenominal stability and taughtness in the chasis. It simply engages you on so many levels.

I'll tell you one thing about the courtesy car though. It had a low ratio gearbox, which I had never tried before. Having played around with it a bit, I discovered that with the low ratio engaged, you can pull off in 4th and never leave that gear. It actually feels fine and you can drop to ridiculous revs w/o it feeling like it might stall. I drove it through town for 20 mins and never left the one gear!
