Default URGENT HELP WITH BIG MODIFCATION

Hi all,

i have been lucky enough to own a subaru 02 bugeye for the past year.

when buying the car my plans where to do some slight mods exterior and engine but with me only really using it for weekends and with a new baby to the family i just havent had time...

the car is 305 bhp and has had some work done at scooby clinic

prodrive pack ...new turbo, fuel pump remap
and also prodrive brake pack

i have come into a bit of money and would like to do as much as possible for the money i have and hopefully gain as much power as i can

i have around 8000 uk pounds to spend

could you please tell me what i could achieve for that inc labour

Having been down the bug wrx modding route I wouldn't throw £8k at an 8 year old wrx worth £5k.

HAVE BEEN GIVEN THESE FIGURES

380 – 400 BHP

we should be able to get around the 380 figure with the following

Subaru Garrett Std Position Turbo £ 1295.00
Turbo Fitting Kit £ 48.00
76mm Inlet hose £ 225.00
Exhaust Manifold (inc. Gaskets and Studs) £ 495.00
Intercooler Std STI (used ones are about £250 but I don’t have any at present)

Labour to install £ 350.00
ECU Remap £ 550.00 (£395 if previously mapped using ECUTEK)

Obviously this does rely on your car already having a suitable Exhaust system, Panel filter, STi “Pink” injectors and a 255 Fuel Pump . You also need to consider the Gearbox if you are still running the WRX type as these are not very reliable at this power level. You would also need an up-rated clutch if you are still running the WRX item as this will not be capable of holding the Torque produced by this package.

The same Turbo can be used for up to 450 BHP but for this you would require at least the following additional items.

Front Mount intercooler kit £ 1100.00
650 cc Injectors £ 440.00
Induction and Big MAF £ 345.00

Labour to install £ 800.00

You may also want to consider changing the ECU at this level as it does produce a better overall result.
Hydra Nemesis ECU (fitted and Mapped) £ 1550.00
(All the above prices are excluding VAT)

See post 5........ Modding a Bug is not very cose effective, and you still have a 10 year old car in 2 years time

Sell you wrx and buy a new sti like suggested a 2005 sti, wit the 8k you hav and the sale value of yours I guess you would have about 10-12k to spend which I am sure you could pick up a well sorted sti for that which will hold it's value more then chucking 8k on your wrx as come resale time you will get no where near that money back
