We went for a <silence as I cannot remember the make> Eclipse...
really cannot remember who makes it.. anyway this is in the old interior before the bucket seats so you would have to check it fits.
My advise would be to make sure you get one with it's own straps rather than using the cars seat belt to secure your daughter..
There was some crash tests done in Autocar (I think) check there website perhaps it will be on there?
Halfords allowed us to take them out and fit them in the car so wee could get one that fitted nicely.

The Eclipse is a Britax seat. We have one of those in my wife's Clio, and a Britax Renaissance in the scoob. Excellent fit with special mechanism means it can't move.
£40 odd quid in mothercare, got it on the net for £90.

My daughter is just over 7 months and we have been looking into this as well. We are probably going to get the Britax Renaissance with the new 2002 fabric This is £110 from KiddieCare. Not seen it anywhere else cheaper (yet).

I would strongly recommend the Maxi Cosi. Easy to fit securely and looks nice in grey. Also, the belts don't get tangled. My daughter (Lardy Girl) has used this since she was about 7 months (now 2).
I also have a Britax Club Class for my son (Lardy Boy) which I would not recommend at all. It can only be fitted securely with the centre lap belt. The shoulder belt fastening will not secure . Also, the belts get really tangled.
Any recommendations for seats for a 5 year old that will fit in the back of a Scooby?

Thanks to all for info - our lad is 9 months old so we need them for our Scoob and Alfa 156 s/wagon. We've tried out many at our local Mothercare & others but we keep finding the buckle is jammed against the frame. The Britax Club Class Extra is the only one we've found so far with a seatbelt routing which avoids this. We bought one for the Alfa but haven't yet got one for the Scoob..

Cosatto "Go-Safe" Sport.
Nicer than any bucket seat i've ever seen in adult sizes
I got oone for our daughter when my wife was 3months pregnant...just had to have it.
It's for 9months to 6years i think, 5point harness(even comes with the seatbelt pad thingies).
I think momosa yellow is discontinued, but the seat itself lives on.
I paid £120 2 years ago, shouldn't be much more now i wouldn't think.

Britax Eclipse for Ez currently
Scoob rear belts aren't too child seat friendly though Buckles in the wrong places & length of belt material at the buckle end.
Have also got a Recaro Start but we have found that for a smaller, wriggly, squirmy child then they slip out from under the diagonal belt. They do do a harness option I believe. Also not great for reclining & having a sleeping sprog. Ease of adjustment is not ideal.
Britax Eclipse should definately be on your list of views this week-end. Nice adjustment for reclining & secure mounting of sprog with an easy strap tightener.
Have to say that lap belts are not good for child seat restraint as going even marginally fast around a roundabout puts a great degree of angle o the poor child That may just be scoob buckles though. The middle of the car is definately the safest place for your P&J.
Must go - Ez wants attention Top of stairs and shouting "DAD DAD DAD" at the top of her voice

Seeing as my STi has red piping seats i think i might go for the Maxi-Cosi Topline Priori in Energy red
Topline meaning a superior material is used in the building of the seat!!
Cheers
