Default Have i potentially killed my new engine

Hi guys

After having a new forged engine built by api, im struggling with numerous problems. The car is v6 sti type r.

1st problem is slipping clutch, not really to bad at the mo, just slips now and then, ive got a new clutch waiting to be fitted at the end of the month, this isnt really bothering me just one of of those things i suppose.

When api remapped my engine after running it in, i was told my turbo was "noisey", i left that day and was experiencing over boosting down the motorway, i was told to contol the boost by fitting a M.B.C, this has sorted the problem until ive got money to fix properly.

Next up ive started to hear a strange whining/ whistling sound on boost, ive had a few mechanics listen to this noise and they all agreed there is a noise but none could confirm that it is the turbo without taking it off and checking it over, although the turbo was checked for play and found to be ok at the time of the engine rebuild. Im also starting to see plumes of blue smoke on start up, which clears after a second on tick over, does this mean the turbo is on its way out?.

Ive been to my local subaru specialist the other week for them to road test my car to diagnose the noise, they thought it was going det, but after data logging and checking it was found the mapping to be sound, but the specialist told me he had not heard any noise that was connected to a knackered turbo.

The specialist told me to try cleaning the boost control solenoid to see if that was the cause of overboosting, ive done this and removed the M.B.C and put back to standard, and found no overboosting but the boost seems very unreliable never holding a constant 1.43bar which it has been mapped for, so i refitted the M.B.C which seem to hold the boost perfectly.

Next is my biggest worry, after refitting the M.B.C the pipe with the restrictor pill has developed a large split, and ive hit over 2bar of boost a couple of times without knowing it, i thought it felt bloody quick then the clutch started slipping, i know this was not a good idea, have i potentially done damage? the car is now off the road untill ive saved up to fix all these problems.

What options do i have on fixing the turbo?, can anyone recomend a place to source a new turbo for the least amount of money, and ive done a bit of research on 3 port boost solenoids, are these reccomended to control the boost better than the standard solenoid.

The biggest problem i have is trying to fix it on a very small budget, ive spent everything on this car and it just keeps throwing problems at me. sorry for the long winded post, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tristan

Not yet mate, think it will be my 1st call tommorow, i know most peoples advice would be to go back to api, but i live up north and there down south, makes it quite difficult, its not like there just down the road and means taking days off work and cost lots in fuel.

Thanks Tristan

as above speak to api the did the package after all, at the very minimum i would only run the car on actuator pressure until the problem is rectified.
