If you want to pay 50k for a 400bhp scoob with a 36k mile/3 year warranty go for it, or buy a used 997 turbo with 500bhp and 30k on the clock for the same money (no brainer really).

The original FQ400 was 40k, 50k is stupid for a 400bhp car considering the R35 GTR is 6 k more etc
Remember that Prodrive offered this 400bhp car 2 years ago for 10k less

half have already gone...
probably to people who will garage them up, and only take them out on dry sunny days or to shows..
Lets face it, they will be very rare..and will become one of the favoured "Ltd Edition cars".. all the technology expertise of Cosworth & Subaru in one car...

I would prefer the expertise of Porsche and their pretty bullet proof turbocharged unit personally
Still think these will depreciate just as quickly as any other subaru, the 36k mile warranty is pretty bad to say the least, you can mod a "normal" JDM 2ltr to 400bhp for a damn sight less, and litchfields type 25 is due out soon (twin scroll), and we have no idea if this will be single or twin scroll.
Overpriced IMO.

Yeah this is waaaaaay over priced IMO. You think you get numpties trying to race you now all the time now? Try commuting in one of these!!
No, I'd rather buy something a couple of years old and give it to API to make fast!

Just read that other Cozzeh thread above.
With all this talk of a warm and fuzzy manufacturers warranty. I presume this will still apply if you take it to the track?? Because I heard IM have knocked back claims on the Hatch it their car was filmed on a track day!!!
They should clarify that.

R205 springs to mind that's why i decided to get one but it's costing me nearly 40k and i already have a 997 turbo so thought i'd potter about in it for 6 months then sell it on.

Lol. Then what am I missing here? What's the point in buying one? I thought the dealer warranty was the main draw?
My classic would run rings round it and has the same warranty.
I have the added benefit of being under the average thief's radar and I can maintain my stealth shield.

Classics are one of the biggest thief targets going and it looks more agressive than a new age, as for warranty, you wont have one and the engine in the new car will be considerably better, would love to see you run 400bhp on a standard engined classic sti, it wont last long (and no, you wouldnt run rings around a hatch, it would run rings around you )

That's what I'm saying. I have no warranty... just like the Cosworth 400 after it's been on a track.
Standard STi? ohhh nooooooo my friend. Take a look at my album... cost less than £50k too
It would be a good race.... even better with a decent driver behind the wheel

I'd stump the cash for a LitchfieldType 20 but not a Cosworth STi. As I have said before, I have not heard of a JDM Hatch 2l going bang yet!
Iain Litchfield developed his car with loads of Cosworth bit's, he's got a proven track record with Scoob's and you'll get a 3 year warranty and better customer service.
IMHO.

(I'd like to see the small print though before betting too much)

The car is a good 4years too late....mark2 type 25 does all the new cosworth sti claims to be able to do and was alot less money! also, it's rarer! Even with the pound being so poor that's alot of money for an impreza......
...mark2 type 25 defo .....mark3...now that'll make things interesting!
