ALLOY FUEL TANK
hi folks ive got a classic shape wrx and im fitting an alloy fuel tank in the boot can i just extend the fuel pipes meaning run longer ones to the fuel tank and also the fuel pipes will be higher up then the original tank so will this be a problem ive never fitted a tank in the boot before its for track days as i got a tank cheap from my mate so thought id use it

If it's to be used for track days then I would also add a swirl pot, Bosch 044 pump and external fuel filters, 60-100 micron pre-pump and 10micron aft.
Why take short cut's, better to install new fuel lines. AN Motorsport and Aeroquip produce nice fuel lines.
Note; You will also require in addition to the HP pump a low pressure pump for the swirl pot setup.

Forgot to add..The Pierburg E3L pump is also very nice and a lot quieter then the Bosch if that is important to you, though they are quite a bit more expensive.
Below are some pictures of the RCM Gobstopper fuel tank/pump setup. These should give you some idea of how to set things up. You will not need the dual pump setup and you will also notice there is no external swirl pot due to the tanks design but for your intended use I highly recommend you install one but you would also install fuel foam and keep a careful eye on you fuel level.
