i'm pretty sure this is a scam.
As above i was suspicious with the first and second email as they didn't sound right, but the latest one (below) they can't quite decide what sex their fiance is
My question is how do they rip me off if their going to pay into paypal, short of cancelling the transaction after they have collected the car i don't see how
EMAIL BELOW
Aaron
"Thanks for the mail , and thanks for the price given, still at the
range, i will offer you £11,350, if you accept my offer cos am
purchasing this car for my fiancee as a birthday gift and i am at sea
at the moment as i am a Marine engineer and i really want the car to
be a surprise for my fiancee so i wont let her know anything about the
car until it gets delivered to him/her , i am sure he will be more
than happy with the car.I insisted on pay pal because i don't have
access to my bank account online as i don't have internet banking, but
i can pay from my pay pal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to
it, i will need you to give me your pay pal email address so i can
make the payments asap for the car and please if you don't have pay
pal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to
http://www.paypal.com and get it set up , after you have set it up i
will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with pay
pal so as to put the money through.I have a pick up agent that will
come and pick the car up after i have made the payments.
PS:you can end the auction on the site yourself, you will see a place
where u can end the auction and my pick up agent will come around to
do the pick up as soon as i have made the payments for the car.
Cheers"

They must think people are complete idiots to fall for this kind of crap. So badly written and conceived, you can usually spot one of these after reading the first 5 words and save wasting a further 2 mins of your life by just hitting delete.
I think the Paypal scam might have something to do with dodgey accounts, in that the money shows up to have transferred into your account - at which point they collect whatever they are stealing from you sharpish - and then a few days later when Paypal get around to figuring out what has happened the payment is cancelled/discovered it be illigitimate and you are foobarred!
People of this level of stupidity and with this much time on their hands should be removed from society - i.e. shot in the face and incinerated. Job done.

Can't have a paypal account without your bank details now. That's why i won't use them anymore.
It will either be a stolen card or you'll get a charge back because its fraud. PayPal won't care that you lost out, the banks have better lawyers.

Here is a great scambaiter website!
We should all do our duty to **** this lot off. The more they get baited the less time they have to actually scam someone!

I wonder if it worth contacting the police and organising a sting?
Edit: No wait. All the police are busy round my way operating speed traps catching locals leaving a 40 a bit too keenly and entering national speed limit only 20 yards ahead.

Big up Hampshire cunstabulary.
I'm all for driving responsibly and I'm sure some of them are OK.... but the guys on the speed traps NEVER stand outside schools during week days. Instead they wait till sunny Saturday mornings and HIDE in bushes near national speed limit signs.
**** them.
And another thing...
I reported my mountain bike as stolen from my garage a while back and they kept asking me if I needed victim support!!! NO I EFFING DON'T NEED VICTIM SUPPORT YOU TARD. I WANT MY EFFING MOUNTAIN BIKE BACK!!!!!!
It is no wonder my respect for them diminishes every time I have any kind of contact with them FFS.

"I was just about to make the payment when i had this little problem
with the picking up,I got an email from my agent..i taught i included
that in my previous email.he said he won't come and pick up the
vehicle unless i pay him the agent commission fee first in order to be
able to schedule a pick up time ,and my pick up agent head quarters is
in the United Kingdom and all commission payments made for pick up,
from anywhere in the world is sent to their head quarters in the UK
and the only form of payments they accept is western union money
transfer and i tried to pay online but i will need a credit card which
i didn't bring along, and there is no post office(there is usually a
western union section in most post offices) or any western union agent
offshore! so i have to ask you to help me with the pick up fees, i
will include the £800 they charged to pick it up at your address (due
to the price and weight of item)up and take it my home(1st class
treatment), to the payments i will send through paypal, after i have
made the payments, i will need you to help me send the £800 to my pick
up agent through western union money transfer, the western union money
transfer can be made at a post office near to you, there is always a
western union agent in most post offices or online at
www.westernunion.com .I will be making the payments shortly and will
email you as soon as it has been done.."
I've sent this back.
If you send me £500 to my paypal i will put £300 towards it and send to the agent, what's his payement info. I can't pay it until i get the deposit as i don't have enough money at the moment.

Anyway the point of the mini rant is here we have a perfect opportunity for a sting and I bet you 10 quid they wont be interested. They will not lift a finger to catch these ****ers red handed. That would be too easy.

Worst part of the fixed penalty is it claims the locations of the speed traps are always selected at accident or potential hazard blackspots, which is total sh!te

More on traffic plod being w@nkers. Not far away they just reduced a miles worth of 40 speed limit to 30 just before it becomes national speed limit.
The very MORNING the new 30 signs went up they were out with their speed guns! What gives with that???

Right got an email from paypal saying i have £11,250 waiting all i need to do is send some info via western union blah blah blah, i cant post it up as it doesn't make much sense when copied and pasted, unless someone knows how i can forward it to them and they can post it
I then almost straight away got this
"Hi,

hope you must have been notified in your email about the payment i
made through PayPal, you can check your e-mail for confirmation of
payment, I have just make the payment of £11250.00 GBP,i have decided
to add the amount of £900.00 GBP which i paid through paypal, So
please i will like you to help me wire the sum of £800.00 GBP to my
agent via western union so he can be able to come for the inspection
and pick up and also paypal said they won't release the funds until
they get the western union information from you due to the fact that i
emailed them about the excess payment i made.i will need you to send
the £800.00 GBP to my pick up agent Headquarters where they normally
confirm any commission payment to via western union money
transfer(this can be done from the post office,or online at
www.westernunion.com) as they usually have a western union agent
there) , i added extra £100 to cover the western union charges which
shouldn't be more that £60-85 but just to be sure i added £100,Here is
my pick up agent Headquarter info needed to get the money sent through
western union money transfer
David Egbiri,
15 alexandra street Folkestone,
Kent
Ct19 6ef .
United Kingdom.
Please kindly email the necessary details to paypal :the mtcn which
you will be given at the western union after the £800 GBP has been
sent,so i can forward it to paypal or better still you can email it to
paypal directly by replying to the Confirmation email you received
from them earlier
Thanks
I await your early reply.."

I will give you 6.5k cash and an IOU that's as good as cash in any bank in the UK
At least after ripping you off you will still have 6.5k to show for it
Some people must fall for it mind or they wouldn't be doing it
I keep replying to the piston heads adds saying the car is in Italy etc saying I can pick it up save them the transport costs but they never reply to me

Judging from the wording and use of Western union, the scammers have no intention of turning up for the car,its purely a bank account based scam-originating somewhere in the African continent from an mostly untraceable internet cafe.
I'd be interested in seeing what you would actually do and what you think the BiB are realistically cabable of...
Yes,I cant stand speed scammerers either, but such is life.If you have a problem, take time out, stop your car and go and tell the coppers what you think of them.
Let me know how you get on and until then, enough of the chuntering and try and stop watching those programmes (you know the ones-mainly introduced by Troy Mclure or Sherrif John Bunnell!)
Nowt personal mind
