Default Bit the bullet last night at £300 for my downpipe

After searching for weeks for a used downpipe for my twin scroll subaru to no avail i bit the bullet last night and paid £300 for my twin scroll downpipe 3" decat from roger clark motorsport. i havent decided on the back box or centre pipe as yet, wether to have a silencer in the centre pipe or not and a back box with or without silencer.......my current exhaust has a standard catted downpipe 2.5" hence the reason for replacement. which then bolts up to a catback exhaust which is one piece 3" all the way through with two resonators built in and tapers at the end to 2.5" to bolt up to the existing downpipe. "my question is this" i can source an adaptor to bolt the 3" roger clark downpipe to the 2.5" flange on my fujitsubo exhaust. which would be the most cost effective way. what would be the performance implications of having about an inch of the exhaust being 2.5" where it meets at the downpipe, or would it be very restrictive and not worth remapping. or should i wait till next pay day to buy the rest at about another £600 from rcm. whereas the adaptor is £45 and would still be a 3" exhaust right through apart from where it joins......whats your thoughts and advice. oh its a new age 2003 sti jdm twin scroll

Also I kept my exhaust 3" the whole way through. Other systems may need welding to the rcm down pipe. I fitted a blitz nurspec to it. Loud though!
