I've just been looking at a Scooby to buy. I've a quesyion about the applied model code on the VIN plate.
This shows GF8FK8D - 5 door MY 99 model - but is the rest of it correct ?
I think the model type 8 is for WRX - do UK scoobs use the same code.
I also think that it should be a 5 instead of a 'K' to indicate 5 door - have I written it down wrong ?

 

somewhere on the SIDC site is a page for frequently asked questions
within that is a break down of all vin codes including imports

Don't take da SIDC faq at face value as mine has an E on da plate but it clearly a MY97 so not 2 b taken too accurately

The SIDC FAQ applied model codes only works for the Japanese Domestic Market grey imports and has been obtained from official sources.
