dyno'd my prodrive ppp
Had a half day of dyno at viezu bromsgove (formally chipped uk) yesterday to see just what the ppp would actually acheive, as the norm seems to be these dyno well under the claimed 305bhp (car is 02 sti uk ppp standard bar panel filter) i was happy with...
296bhp 313lb/ft all runs were consistant ie lowest 293bhp highest 296bhp and it was a warm day too..
the high light of the day though was my brothers 06 sti bassed on these mods..
vf34
perrin fmic
hks headers
hks fcom ecu
hks cold air kit (mushroom in wing)
full de-cat 2.5" exhaust
cars top run was 381bhp 365lb/ft which i felt was high for a vf34??
also had a leon cupra r mapped before run made 216bhp after 242bhp then after changing the panel filter and fitting a stronger re-circ d/v (standard was leaking boost) it made 262bhp

Do you mean your brother swapped the std VF43 for a VF34?
381/356 actually sounds like it has pretty low torque but the power is in the right area.
But as RRs vary so much then it is so hard to comment. Did he RR it mean totally standard?
This would a more useful comparison.

I was making that statement towards the Volkswagen Audi Group valves neil. You could change an original subaru on for an uprated forge recirc version, but i feel it wouldn't be worth it as the subaru ones are actually very very good at their job.

Good figures then for VF35 and 2.0 engine with a well balanced set of mods.
Tomwrx- only the US STis had the VF39 until the hawkeye (06)- then all global 2.5 STis got the VF43 until the hatchback was released.

just to sort the confussion out the car made the 381/365 with a vf34 fitted NOT a vf35!!!! the vf35 was in relation to what was fitted to the car originally i can confirm it had a vf35 originally still seems good power though on the vf34

In my experience the PPP power claims are never made. These cars are typically 295/296 bhp with PPP.
The UK STi had the VF35 turbo as standard and with all supporting mods these will do typically 340 bhp sometimes marginally more and the VF34 will typically up to 360 bhp. I am not sure I have heard of any on a reliable rolling road making any more and in any case they don't move enough air to make more but remember that different rolling roads will give different figures.
The VF39 and VF43 are good turbos and fitted to Jap spec cars.
