Who Mapped Your Car?
Who mapped your car or who would you chose to map your car? Please base on personal / first hand experience if possible. Apologies if your mapper is not listed.
Has anyone been running the same map or with tweaks from same mapper for 40k miles or more without major hiccups...experiences?
I am particularly keen to hear from those having covered many thousands of reliable miles following on from their chosen remap as this is my everyday car...
Any bad experiences or anyone that feels major problems with their car have been as a direct result of poor mapping and not just a heavy right foot or old car? Please PM any negative feedback as well as high praise, probably best not to slate people on the thread as this is peoples livelihoods we are talking about, so pm only for particularly bad experiences...do not want thread to be closed.
As you can see I have tried to pick from the most reputable / highly regarded mappers but with a couple of options local to me thrown in!

Powerstation first mapped my MY05 STi a couple of years ago, wasn't particularly impressed so went to Jolly Green Monster and Simon did a fantastic job
But I've had a new engine/turbo/ecu etc now built and mapped by Martyn @ Engine Tuner Wont go any anywhere else now!! Worth the trip down to Plymouth IMO!

Bob Rawle mapped my00 classic back in June 2007 - ended up with a figure of 283bhp. Never had the slightest problem with it since. Can't lay my hands on the mileage figure at that date but since I'm averaging 12k a year (which includes daily commutes into London of around 25 miles return) thats heading towards your 40k figure. We've also had a couple of fairly long Europe trips in that period but the cars never missed a beat.

Think the same credit ought to also go to both Pat Herborne (brains behind Syvecs (Solaris) and Paul @ Zen Performance - I have used them both on mine.

I guess you are talking about mapping the OE ECU/ I have been running a GEMS ECU since 2004 with @ 30,000 miles on the clock. I am now at nearly 100,000 miles and have upgraded the car a num,ber of times and now at 416 bhp. The ECU has been mapped only by Steve Simpson who like many on Scoobynet is easy to talk to and very helpful when I have planned further upgrades.

Not all mappers are universally good at all the various combinations of mods/turbos/ECU's/Software etc etc etc. In addition, depending on your expectations of software/mapper support etc, different mappers may be more suited to your expectations than others.
Unless this is a popularity contest, without knowing the spec of the cars being mapped, not all recommendations are equal IMHO You may as well ask 'whose map was on your car when it went bang' !
