I'm building my Sti type r v4 @ the moment and was wondering what power the v4 dccd box can take
any help appreciated

 

Different transmissions absorb different amounts of abuse. Id expect 320bhp to 350bhp (although torque kills your gearbox, not horsepower). V5/V6 transmissions are stronger, IIRC.

Beale sell it before you break it will contribute towards your new box....

i did hear from a good source that the type r v4 box was one of the best classic boxes and can take 400hp if you dont launch it etc, i`m hoping its the same box in my ra v4

that was from a guy who rally preps them and hes got a v4 r himself

 

My Type R V4 'box went at around 320bhp. Now replaced with a 6 speed.
