STI Hatch - handling upgrades

STI Hatch - handling upgrades
Hi All,
I think its a great car, are there any upgrades which transform the handling. Its good, but does tend to roll too much in corners.
My local dealer has recomended stiffer prodrive springs as they don't affect the car's warranty. Also my insurance company is happy if the part is manufactuer approved (eg Prodrive they said was fine and would not affect the premium).
Cheers

Just a thought not sure if they would fit,
Why dont u try to source some pink sti suspension of the 2006 spec C type ra...I always assumed they might be a little on the hard side but the lads that run them, say there is no problem and there great!!!! u will surely get around warranty and insurance then?????? its a subaru part?
Then again a spring upgarde might be all u need.

Have the PD springs myself, very good and do improve the ride, along with rast road geo set up I am very happy with the ride now, lowver center of gravity and not a harsh ride at all, next thing as Kyle sais is the ARB if you want to go a step further.

AST suspension, uprated rear a/r bar, top strut brace, u/c brace, steering bush kit, anti-lift/castor bush kit, poly suspension bushes and rear subframe bushes.
Talk to Iain Litchfield - he knows all about Hatches

I thought that if you changed any parts on the suspension, it voided the warranty on suspension only (not engine etc).
If that is no longer the case, then do absolutely nothing, or buy the expensive stuff offered by the dealers, but ensure they give written confirmation that the new parts will not affect warranty.
Still talk to Iain as to best way to achieve a compromise with warranty. You can keep the original parts to swap back if the worst happened.

Yes squire - it corners like a bloody ship..
In this order....
1. 'Professional tuner' 4 wheel computer geo set up will put it on rails
2. Front and rear Arb's will deal with the rolling ship feature
3. Whiteline rear subframe plastic inserts will tighten up the sloppy 'floating axle' design AND will stop it steppin' out at speed (which they can do when pressing on)
4. Springs will sharpen / stiffen it all up a bit, including the ride - but look good
Other options include drop links and alk, which will make a difference if you are a trackstar, otherwise on the road they can equate to more road/transmission noise

Honestly suggest you take a credit card and book in to see Ian at Litchfeld Imports for a day. He and his team will take very good care of you and your car will be turned from a decent hatchback into a STI...my Dealer has seen the aftermarket handling parts Litchfields fitted to my car and is fine with them (with regard to my warranty) if that worries you

The guy is driving a hatch. They aren't any hatchback Spec C RAs.

As long as the replacement parts are Subaru (and suitable) then the warranty will not be effected.
The IM warranty issues usually revolve around after market upgrades from 3rd party suppliers
