Aside from the usual suspects on here (harvey, Andy Forrest, Lateral, APi, Enginetuner etc) the only place from e-bay I'd think of using would be Deadbolt

2 types, proper Mitsubishi TD05's and cheap chinese copies, avoid the latter!

ive just bought a 18g from kinugawa turbo same as (kamakdynamics) , i haven't tried it yet so i can't comment on how it goes , but i searched on other forums before i bought and they seem to perform/last well from what reviews i've read , has greddy internals and just the compressor housing is made by them from what Ive found out, also 1 year guarantee, it arrived today and looks good quality , but have taken a bit of a risk buying this ,

i will let you know how it goes
the shaft has a bit of up and down play but i think that is normal on these type of turbo's when there is no oil in them
by the time it got to me and customs and postage charges its cost me £460.

lots and lots of confusion on this that has been escalated by scoobynet n00bs and myth/legend.

There are many brands of 18g and many resellers however the core nuts and bolts of it are either going to be genuine MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) or pattern parts.
Avoid the pattern parts.
JAW or Japan Auto Warehouse are a big no no.
Blousch through SC, AFP, Zen, Lateral, Engine Tuner are all well known and respected brands so they are going to (one would hope) stand by their own kit, offer support, advice and warranty.

Essentially you take a td05 core, new or used, you then change the compressor wheel from 16 to 18g and either machine the housing to take the wheel or add the larger housing (the bit that looks like a snail shell and is shiny silver).
You can then either leave it as 7cm exhaust housing (the rusty bit on the back) or change for the larger 8cm housing (not if you want it to spool sensibly you wont).
There you have a td05-18g.

I would be VERY surprised. and I am willing to be proved wrong! if AFP, Lateral et al are up at night with a Blacksmith's hammer and anvil making td05s!!

Next up, tubular headers and their myths exploded in front of your very eyes!!

sorry dude, depends on who you talk to

There are markings on the internals that are supposed to be pretty good, although the sellers will say that they need to be balanced.
I guess it's your call, and if it works then it didn't need to be balanced.

That is the problem with JAW stuff, didn't balance at all so made weak power

Peanuts

The reason I mentioned Deadbolt Enterprises (USA) in my post above is I'm sure that's where Andy Forrest sources his TD05 18G's from
