Default Urgent advice please!

Hi guys, I need a bit of advice pretty sharpish. I've arranged to see this car -

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1747097.htm

I've spoken to the owner briefly and he mentioned that because there is no boost controller on the car its only running 0.6 boost. Does this sound like an easy fix or is more likely to be a bigger problem being covered up?

Please give me some advice guys, I love the look of the car but I don't want to buy some major problems!

Afaik, just needs a new boost controller, can always talk to the guy selling it, and use it as a bargaining chip, I.E. say you'll take it if he fixxes that. But 0.6 boost really isn't at all that great :/

Personally i don't see why he doesn't get a replacement boost controller (i guess he means the solenoid) as they aren't hard to find.
Being picky as well the engine picture shows either an HKS not an Apexi one.

I don't think it's right that people should sell cars that basically don't work properly.

If he's selling the car for 4k you would have thought he would fix the boost problem, if it is just a boost controller needed. Seems suspect

I've just spoken to ScoobyClinic about it and they were pretty helpful. Like you guys, they said it sounds dodgy and needs looking at properly. Think I'm gonna let my head rule this one and give it a miss. Such a shame, I love the look of it!

Could be in limp home mode, covering a problem. Leave it.

£4K seems a lot for what is essentially a car with no rebuild history etc except for an enigne and box

also 4k for a car needing parts, it will never sell. Would anyone here pay 4K for a fault car

Looks nice though, hence why hes thinking 4k is acheivable

Pretty sure the guy that owns that car is a member on here because I've seen pics of that on here before.

i just paid 27 pounds for a new manual boost controller, its sweet! so not too expensive to add a new one but 0.6 ain't too hot, is it hitting fuel cut at all? does it have a boost guage fitted?
