gearbox security locks????
hi all just a quick question, my mate rapid sti on here has just got a 2002 bugeye sti type uk and it has a silver pin with a key that goes into the end of it which you put in a hole at the side of the gear stick and enables you to lock the car in either 2nd 4th or 6th gear, i havent seen these on any other scoob and wondered if it was factory fit or an aftermarket security mod? i think they should all have them as standard!!

I have one fitted to mine, its called Dipol and is an aftermarket fitment that locks the gearbox into reverse when stationary. Not a good idea to have a gearbox lock that locks into a forward gear as the car could still be driven away with a lot of clutch slip.

i get what you mean but if in 6th theres a good chance it will just keep stalling isnt there also he parks his forwards in his garage so better in a forward gear!
