bonnet vents needed?
Hi all
I know that the vents on each side of the bonnet are only there for homolagation purposes and that some owners with an induction kit put a mini scoop on as cold air feed but Ive not long had my turbo 2000 long and cannot belive how hot these engines run. Its standard and had coolant change recently. I fitted a radiator cool panel but obiously this dunt do much. Is it ok to take the bottoms of the vents to help hot air get out or is this a bad idea with water getting in? also wonderin if any1 uses water wetter or something similar in the coolant and whether it works well
Thanks

I've fitted one of these induction scoops on my 98 classic (just one one above the air filter) rain can enter the engine bay so probably not the best mod.....I only use my car at weekends so if its raining I try not to use it very much.
Not sure how much these help the induction kit? obviously it's gonna let more fresh air in? I personally think they look really good on the bonnet though!
I wouldn't go cutting the bottom of the standard vents out as you let a lot more rain through than what you would with one of these induction scoops!

You just missed a huge thread about this......
Search down the Scoobynet General list and it'll be on the first 3 pages somewhere.
consensus is leave them on- poor air flow under the bonnet, hotter engine bay and inlet temps with them removed.
