Default What STi should I be looking at with £9.5k?

Tearing my hair out at the moment as prices of STi's I see for sale are just all over the shop, some STi 9's for £10k/£12k/£14k which mostly seem the same car, but then STi 8's at more or less the same prices!

This money is burning a hole in my pocket

Cheers Stevie, there are only 2 cars in those 4 links, I have seen both those but they are more than 200 miles away from me. Was trying to wait for one a bit closer and ideally in WR Blue ( Picky I know )

Get the 2005 model as all ready mentioned Subaru revised a few bits n bobs, not to worry about the colour mate you might as well get what you want so hold out for the right car in the blue. As for 200 miles some times you have to make that trip for something that you really want.

LOL

Or get one and spend £2K on reaching 400 bhp.

You ought to be trying to find a JDM STI IMHO.

I'd PM Tonyburns or wait for him to pop up. Tony seems to have an eye for a bargain plus a lot more. Certainly if I was on the lookout for a new car it's what I'd do

I'm with Dunx.... You should be on the lookout for a JDM Blob Sti IMHO

A little steep on the price but looks good

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1716217.htm
Good price for a WR1 with that mileage

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1744742.htm
Look for these ones, advertised as a MY04 but are actually a 2005 MY car pick up a bargain!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1758927.htm
Not a bad one, with a fair few extra's added in

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1641182.htm
May be worth looking at (no the pics are not of an S202, these are a spec c ltd by the looks).

You find the car of your dreams in the most unusual place half the time, and yes, travel is essential the other half of the time, but always look above your budget as you may get something better with a bit of bartering, and leave some cash on the side for any bits that need doing (I always recommend a full service inc the belts when buying 2nd hand, plus an inspection).
You find MY05 are advertised as 2004 models, grab a bargain when you can look for the uprated interior and flared rear arch extensions (note there are no versions after the version 6 cars, the confusion with specifications is horrendous, try comparing a MY03 UK car with an MY03 JDM GL spec, they look similar and thats it!)

Cheers guys and thanks Tony. I've emailed the guy who's selling the car in the first link a few times and I just thought it was a little bit too expensive. 2nd link, I really don't like the colour of the WR1, 3rd link defo do not want black, 4th link has been a 'maybe view' for a while now and 5th link always be wary of dealers who substitute numbers for letters in stupid names lol.

After a bit more reading I think a JDM would be a better choice ....

Mate do yourself a favour and call these people, alot of sellers don't come back to emails as they feel a real buyer would pick up the phone and call to ask details. There are too many people who just think if I send an email I should get a reply and that's not the case, there are a couple of threads complaining about the likes of Litchfield not replying to an email blah blah but not picking up the phone and calling.

If you see one you like please please please call them!!!

I agree Stevie I do call most of the time, the only times I don't is when they are asking £12k+ and I am offering 9 and a bit I just feel cheeky.

When I said I'd emailed the first guy, he has been replying (He works in Africa or somewhere for 6 months of the year) but I just don't have enough to meet his asking price.

You don't have to meet his asking price ........... a car sells for what money changes hands

I put my house on the market for £395,000 and had to sell it for £298,000.

Now if that first one had been in white

Personally I'd go for the Litchfield import

OK the other one has had a few things done and Len at Subaru4you has a good rep.....it's just the TSL chargecooler that worries me a bit

If that goes pants then it's a wallet out job

Have you driven a Hawkeye ??
