Default VF22@600+hp???

hi all

i have a "friend" on facebook bragging that his 94 classic with a vf22 is pulling over 600hp, i dont know about supporting mods etc but from pics its has no FMIC and only a small exit exhaust... is 600 even possible with a vf22?
says hes wasted the new focus rs, not that thats a benchmark but they are quite quick. i know is daft but want propper ammo before i tell him hes a nobend...

cheers

Rich

'The VF22 has the largest potential for peak horsepower. In other words, in the IHI model range, the VF 22 supports the highest boost levels. It is capable of running up to 25 psi. Because it is a roller bearing turbo, turbo lag is minimal...the boost comes on around 3300 rpm. Expect to max out the VF22 somewhere in the 400-450 hp range'

I very much doubt he has anywhere near 600bhp unless running full forged internals or a stroker kit and some sort or Garrett variant turbo

Not gospel, but a decent guide for turbo outputs - but in a nutshell you wont be getting 600bhp from a TMIC or VF22

problem is "vf22 hybrid" could mean a fair few combinations or turbo parts but some part of it came from a vf22... the exhaust housing is fairly large and does make reasonable power with other turbo parts buit then it is not as vf22 anymore

Would the standard MAF not be maxed out long before the sort of airflow needed for 600bhp as well?

another sorry case of pub talk...

by next week it'll be up to 650

I was sat in a pub listening to some chav boasting his mate's jetski was a 90mph one.... in the end I turned round and told him he was talking total bollox and (at the time) the jetski speed record was 82mph..and what ski was it... turned out it was a 1200 yammy..good for 65 tops.... but he'd still not accept it....
