In that article it says he had the plates changed and took the docs to a local police station...
He said: “I changed the plates after being told to do so and fitted them myself. They cost £16 and then I got a stamped note from a garage confirming they were legal. This cost another £4.
“I left it at the police station when I produced my insurance, MoT and driving licence within the required 14 day period. I assumed that was the end of the matter but more than four months later I was summonsed.
According to that the police had the proof he'd had the correction done...why were they having a 2nd trial?

A fair point I agree, but none the less people seem insistant on ******* around with number plates when they know not too.

Hmm, not too sure if it take it off of wait for a 'warning'. Been pulled over before with about 20 cops around who closed a road to stop every one and see that everything was in order.
Had no problem then..

Yup, AFAIK it actually is illegal, your plate should also show the name of the company who made the plate for you on the bottom side of it as well.

I was short of funds so stuck another 5 speed in very reluctantly (driving very calmly now).
Saving up for a 6 speed, have a 20G for now not going to change anything else until my gearbox is in place![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
So you opted for the 2.5 huh
