Hi all,
Has anyone ever fitted (and maybe got piccies) front fog lights to a Hawkeye STI?
If so answers to a few questions would be greatly appreciated.....
Are they easy to fit yourself, I've fitted stereos/DVD's (inc. the wiring) and stuff so I do know a little about electrics (but not an expert).
Where'd you buy em from, including the fog lioght switch (to fit PROPERLY), ie. no chopping up of the bumper or dashboard etc.
Cheers
Ronnie

thinking of doing this to my blob sti going dealers in the morning to sort out price. the wiring is already installed on my car if you remove the blanking switch next to the rear fog light switch the multi plug is already there you just need to buy the switch.
if you remove the wheel arch liners the wiring for the foglights is also there just needs plugging in.
on the blob i think all you need to buy is switch, bracket and foglights. no chopping or wiring required just remove fog cover and install bracket lights and plug it all in.
simple half hour job.

I wouldn't bother. In all my years of driving, I have never encountered any fog which was thick enough to require additional lighting.
Unless, of course, you intend using your fog lights as a signal to other chavs that you have a slightly better than entry-level spec car...
Or that you can't see properly

Personally, I wouldn't bother unless it's for cosmetic reasons. I had a blobeye before my current Hawkeye. The fogs on the blob were excellent, so I thought that the Hawk's would be of similar quality. THEY AREN"T!!!!! In fact, they are abysmal, to the extent that I can't tell when they're on, even when I only have sidelights on. Complete waste of money IMO. Fortunately I didn't pay extra for mine because it's a Spec. D.

Thx for the replies all.
To be honest they are mainly for cosmetic reasons

Just as a matter of opinion, cos everyone's is different and beauty is in the eye of the beholder (ask the wife). What do people think lamps (same as the ones on the spec D) or no lamps![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)

yep, they Spoil the look of the car and don’t add any effective light. Having a load of work done new 500bhp 2.35 rcm lump and some weight saving (air con etc) so they could well have been removed.
They do clip in but not think i would fancy doing it to often as it would be easy to do some damage.

Complete waste of time and money - no question!! ...and that applies to any foglights.
I have them on my Spec D and I can confirm they are totally ineffective in any conditions and are only used for flashing prats who use foglights when it isn't foggy or snowing.
If you want to waste your money, send it to me
