Carbon lookie likie vinyl
Hi all,
Just returned from the Porsche summer BBQ in Essex which was a really enjoyable day out. There were a couple of cars with the carbon fibre vinyl applied their roofs (A very dirty white Focus RS and a very expensive Lummunie (spelling?) BMW X6) and on both cars the weave was wavey. It was obvious when you look along the roof but I was really disappointed with the look. I was trying to persuade the missus that it would look good on my roof but all I got was a "you must be joking, its crooked" comment.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just something you have to live with as the vinyl is stretched and manipulated to fit the curves on the roofs. If so then there is no way it is a viable alternative to real caron fibre - it just looks like second best.
