Default carbon canister removal...please help me!!

I have read so many different and conflicting write ups on doing this correctly.....i have a 98 type R and ive had to remove it to make room for my catch tank......i have 2 pipes on top and 1 on the bottom so need to know exactly what to do with them!!...is the bottom one the fuel tank vent??....do i leave them all VTA or do i block them .
Is one of them a vacuum that needs to be plugged?

What have you all done and have you had any running probs at all, have heard someone say it makes car run richer!!

Please advise...thanks very much :-)

the one at the bottom is not needed just join the top two pipes together bit tricky as one is smaller than the other
