Because the classic I/C spray bottle on the type r goes where the abs is, Hence why type r has no abs!

Because facelift classic Impreza's eithr have the abs pump or the waterspray bottle in a particular position in the egine bay, and not both.

So I ave no idea where I will position the waterspray bottle.

Get a spec c tank and put it in the boot, or look up the washer bottle Mod sure there's link somewhere, if it's a uk and got headlamp washers just extend the pipe upto the intercooler and then u can use the headlamp washer switch as the intercooler switch!

I know - but what's the problem with fitting the bottle in the boot?
If you're building your own water spray setup - there is no problems with it.

Ah, and for Malta which I believe is much warmer than UK or Ireland it might be really good idea indeed to use 12l Spec-C tank, as you will probably use a lot of water.
5l bottle is very easy to empty in warm weather

Well I guess I bought the engine bay bottle for nothing

Just wanted to see if there is an alternative from:
http://www.flat4online.co.uk/catalog...pray-tank-2241

Because I won't have access to my folding seats. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't early impreza have a seperate bottle for the rear window washer?

ryn004 - forget about flat4online as a first thing

some models I think had indeed some small bottles near the rear light indeed - you can try this.
Or simply try to build your own bottle somehow maybe - using the pump from cheap engine bay bottle?

I'm sure you can make diy version of the system - good luck.

I already got the standard I/C tank and pump. Just not sure if the pump is enough to run water up to the front.

Another question, is if there is a write up of how to wire the manual and auto I/C switches.

i had this big problem with mine but i bought another headlight switch cut out the spare rectangle on in the same area of the head lamp washer swtich did a nice lil viynl sticker sayin IC bought a fleabay windscreen washer bottle (1.5ltr rectangle bottle) more than enough unless ur doing really long runs etc, then mounted it up in the top right corner of the engine bay further back from the fuel filter works a dream bit of a thrown together kit but if youve got loads of extras like me (catchcans etc) fitted nicely, id say id post pics but im out in afghan at the moment lmao

That's not the main reason why the Sti Type R has no ABS. I think you'll find its more to do with the DCCD in the Sti

I'm going to stick in a Spec C tank in the boot of mine as i get fed up filling the front bottle up all the time when i put the water spray on Auto

Your car should have intercooler spray already. You sure it's an sti? It should have a small bottle behind the driver side headlamp.

Not sure if the ecu programming is different on the abs car to the none abs model as the ic spray is controlled via the ecu, it may not be as easy as just fitting a water reservoir and buttons....
