Some people have been caught though hopefully it will save some people here


Southend seafront

BMW Dark Blue x reg 535 diesel with dark tints

A130 Chelmsford Bound

BMW Dark Blue y reg 323i with dark tints

Tail tail signs

1. both have lights on rear parcel shelf
2. look for 2 aerials
3. wearing white shirts

I'll keep a lookout even though I am sure there are tons more! I enjoy the odd burn round the Southend area and I like racing BM's!

Watch out for the old shape blue Mondeo estate parked ackwardly at the side of the road....could be taking pictures of your Scooby and not for your lounge wall either...

And there are also the red Fiat Ducatto vans I've seen in and around Brentwood with the cameras.

I think they've put markings on the back of some of the vans now.

H reg Escorts are a bit scary... I'd cheerfully try to blow one of those off

All unmarked cars are rotated through each traffic division in the county before being sold off or inter-police transferred to another force.

Generally they are moved every three to six months.

I'm not sure what all forces do as my contact has mainly been with the Met and Sussex where these rules apply. As an aside the Met is slightly different again, but you can do whatever you want at the moment as they are not running any Traffic division at the moment, with all the problems they have moved all these guys to foot/local patrols in difficult areas. I have a mate who is severely hacked off with this!!!! [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

As for other forces I think it depends on how busy the cars are how often they are likely to be seen, thus reducing their effectiveness.
