Best free mod for those with dump valves
TAKE THEM OFF!!!
Morning all,
I've read a few articles with regards to dump valves in my time on scoobynet.
I have to admit that I did indeed have a dumpvalve on my car for the past 3 months. It was a Turbosmart - £229.99 (new).
A friend gave it to me, so I would put it on and enjoy the 'whooossshhh' sound.
I took it off on Saturday and put the standard one back on.
And what a difference!!!! The car is so much more responsive through gear changes and therefore it feels a lot quicker.
The noise on the Turbosmart is very loud and if thats what you want then fine, but if you want a scoobie running how it should - then don't put an aftermarket dump valve on.

Thanks for reading the post properly 'RA Dunk'.
I think the majority of turbo owned cars have tried a after market dump valve at some point. But it's simply not worth it.
That said, if anyone wants to buy my Turbosmart off me............

I,ve just taken my VTA dump valve off and replaced it with a standard recirculating one after reading post,s on the subject. I believe the car runs better on the original dump valve. My car still makes the VTA sound though as my induction kit is located in the front wing making it sound louder to the ear.
