Horrible Problem
Just had a new manifold fitted to our bugeye sti as the aftermarket one we had cracked so thought we would just buy another one to help solve the issue.
Had it fitted at a local mechanic , he said it was a right nightmare to do.
Anyway driving home and i have NO BOOST at all in any gears, i have a boost gauge and the car revs as normal and drives normal ( except boost = flat ) however just has no boost as if there is no turbo there.
I have checked IC pipes, vaccum hoses, new manifold and joins all seems ok.
Have no idea what it could be please help ............................

What do you mean up-pipe problem.
Yes hoses seem ok, just let cool down as seems to be getting very hot under there atm, might be as not used it for 10days and forgot how hot they get lol. However getting some boost on various times, nothing constant and not holding.

This might help, took me 10mins to find a good image to help you lol:
Please note this image may not look like your set up though....
I think newage without a brass restrictor pill fitted would run around 0.5bar, where as a classic without a brass pill runs the other way around and would overboost
Let us know how you wet on, and if you have no pills you can make your own

Headers off then I would say to have a look, or if the car is mapped, speak to the mapper and ask him to run a diognostic to see whats happening. He should be able to see it quickly.
Sounds like the wastegate is fully open.
I take it whoever did the Headers are fully qualified mechanics or subaru guys?
Is there any odd noises at all, and what happens on full throttle at 4500rpm in third gear when you lift off, any noises then?
If all you have had done is headers it sounds like the guys that did the job have messed with other stuff other than the headers unless the headers are stupidly oversized in which case spool will be seriously delayed, but still available at higher revs.
Where are you based I might be able help with names/mappers/garages etc?

Will know more tomorrow.
Its not down to new manifold? Maybe a bit of metal / weld from the old cracked manifold has gone through the turbo EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK
Thats where we think its leading to.

as ive said ive seen one fitted that had a brand new 8mm nut left in it at somepoint and no one checked it before fitting which lead to it being wedged in the turbo blades and stopping them from spinning. although in this case there was no damage to the turbo and its still going strong 3 years later.
Was it boosting at all before the replacment was fitted?

Right, ok car is currently at API and have now found the problem.
Basically when the manifold has cracked, bit of the metal has gone up into the turbo and well basically had a lovely time inside
'The turbo has come to a juddering stop with such a violence that it has cause the spindle nut to undo itself'.

Thought would keep this an ongoing thread with progress etc etc.
Turbo being sent back to AET to hopefully be refurbed and bought back to life. However being a GT3076 its a little larger than standard so hoping it can be fixed.
Bought some Harvey headers and up-pipe as i dont want the same thing to happen 3months down the line again.
Again huge thanks to API - David for there/his continued support.

Well as David kindly put, you can never really afford it once, but always twice ( or something like that lol ) so trying to do it right this time around so not in same position in 3-6months time.
Yes the car will be needing a map as its believed that the new headers and up-pipe with aid spooling on the 3076.
