Far better than a knocklink you can set this to how you want it, it makes a lovely noise when it hits that limit, something a knocklink doesnt do, this also shows you how high a level it hit until you reset it, something a knocklink doesnt do, plus you need to watch a knocklink to see if you get det, you dont on the KS3
I have both fitted to my V5 STI type R, the KS3 is far better

does look a good bit of kit but is quite pricey. Im running the car as safe as possible (if there is such things with scoobys) ive got the parralell fuel mod, boost controller hopefully to stop spiking and guages to keep an eye on things, I thought a knocklink would be a good investment. Only thing is im running out of spacce to put things! Does the ks3 actually prevent knock or det? Havent really read into it

+1 for the KS-3
Awesome bit of kit and set up correctly, It works a treat.
I did try to buy mine from Aztec, But despite showing stock on their site and on their E-Bay shop they ermm didn't have any
Bought mine from Phormula direct. The price was superb as was the technical advice
Yes it's expensive but...

The KS3 has a range of settings which can/should be set up with your mapper to calibrate the det that can be heard on det cans with those seen on the KS3. Then using this set the alarm level on the KS3 to highlight 'real' det.
The flashing lights on knocklinks dont really tell you an awful lot and with engine sizes varying the frequency of the det noise changes/ Also some engines are a lot noisier than others and this background noise can be filtered out with the KS3 to only show proper det. Whereas it is virtually impossible to know that the orange or red or whatever light on a knocklink is real det. As soon as there is some element of doubt, then the point of having one at all erodes.
The KS3 is well worth the money and I wouldnt use anything less on my car.
It is also very useful for monitoring the fuel quality as the numerical scale that is given is a really good indicator of this. Set the KS3 on Vpower for instance then see the numbers shoot up on BP ultimate LOL

To the OP, you will be glad you didn't find the knocklink on Flat4's website, please do a bit of research on Flat4online before placing any orders

How do you fit TWO? Surely not both on the same bolt?
My LED's for my knocklink are fitted remote, almost at eye level, around the fuel pressure gauge which is on the A-pillar.

I have the KS3 (which replaced the Knocklink) and whilst it's a useful item of kit, it does have it's faults. It needs to be set up which sounds easy in the instructions but not so easy in practice. Getting the gain at the best setting and at what level to set the alarm is the tricky bit but the 'less than ideal' things about it are - unless the unit is in direct eyeline the weedy warning light is easily missed although you should hear the warning unless you have a pretty loud car. It has to be re-set after an alarm trigger. Ideally, it should automatically start to give warnings again with the ability to display previous warnings as part of the menu. Of course, this would increase the price and it's not cheap to start with.
Worth having, but with a few annoying details.

You lot make me chuckle .... you just have to find something to cure something - even if the thing doesn't exist
Det, HeatSoak, MAF faults, this that and the other .... all made up to enable hobbyists to spend their money! ............................ mine ran for 10 years and 100,000 miles without so much as a hiccup! But, then again, I don't scare easy either

I think that since we started selling them a long time ago, we've only ever been out of stock once and that was for a couple of weeks.
We've got some 8 KS3/4s on the shelf at the moment as well as some Pros.
Glad you got it sorted though and are happy with it
It is a great bit of kit, heads and shoulders above the old knocklinks.

This site is frequented by enthusiasts who enjoy modifiying their cars and will spend their money in any way they choose. At the end of the day, ANY sport, hobby or pastime is ultimately pointless so I believe it's disrespectful to mock anyone for what they do and enjoy.

JohnD - you have been here the same time I have ...... you need to stop taking things too seriously - you know that I am expected to mention something on a post about a Random Light Generator (CockLink)
