Default Which tyres?

Which tyres are people using for general use? I want something that's fairly hard wearing but grippy for fast road use.

Yeah I'm looking at Toyo's, they are only £95 each at Camskill. It's currently got Pilot sports on but I do alot of town driving so wanted something a bit cheaper.

Falken FK452, do a search, they seem to go down well for upper budget tyres. I have had a few sets and cant say anything bad about them.

You cant go wrong with Toyo T1R's. Good all round tyre wet or dry and fairly good wear from them too.

I've got Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrical at the moment, very good in wet and dry, not the cheapest but best not to skimp on the only thing between you and the road

It's worth doing a search on this site - lots said recently on tyres. Vredestein's are popular and are good value at Camskill. Contisportcontact3 and Bridgstone RE050A's were rated well in this months Evo. I've had Eagle F1's and can't complain - good tyres. But I'll be looking at Vredies next.

Did you notice that the tyre test was done at Continental's test facility?

Please do not buy T1Rs.
They don't wear well.
They don't grip well.

Try Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, top quality tyre for average money
Or the RS2 for serious cornering.

A lot of people seem to love the T1Rs though... I was even considering a set... will give the Hankooks a look and those falkens everybody is talking about.... I've also heard good things about the Falken Azenis RT-615K but I think those are kinda pricey

if its not broke dont fix it ..... i was on the hunt for new tyres i had a set of avons zz3 225 40 18 front 2 were worn down inner and outer edges . a quick check back they had done 15 k miles and rears were still 4mm+ the fronts were still 3-4 mm in the middle. so bought 2 new fronts from tyre shopper £199.70 fitted they work well wet and dry and used my car in the snow no probs. i have upped the front and rear pressure it was 38 34 but after a rethink lowered to 36 33 to try to stop edges wearing out so fingers crossed. if i get a other 10 k out the rear 25 k miles i will be a happy bunny. i alway try to run tyres in for the first few hundred miles and have always had good miliage from them. btw the avons are a xl tyre high load 92y rating maybe somthing to do with good wear rate. glad i stuck with avons.

??? I am on my 4th Scoob (Spec C) and have tried a variety of tyre makes on all of them. Find Toyo T1R best for wear, grip & price in that order.

Perhaps best you have a look at this thread rather than individual opinions:
https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...-a-scooby.html
Apparently plenty of people on here take a similar view.

im a toyo man myself i only get around 6k out of em due to the stick they get around corners as min is quite low and it scrubs on the outer edge but its been the same with the falkens i tried ( i took em off after understeering quite alot) cant remember the model though.
ive got some yoko advans on the track wheels i bought and im very happywith the grip on those but i cant comment on price or wearabliity on them as only done 500miles with em
