Default STI PPP

Hi all,

have just put a deposit down on a 2007 STI to replace the current daily driver.

Does anybody know if I can I have the PPP retro fitted?

thanks

Yes the PPP can (and in most cases) is fitted after purchase.

Have a look at other options for the same price as
1- your warranty will soon expire and
2- you don't get much extra in the PPP for this model - just a chip and a back box I think.
If I were you, I would also be looking at the decent exhaust system/remap option.

Hi mate, I have the same model car and also considered getting PPP fit, after searching round on here and bearing in mind the warranty was due to expire, I went for a Cat-back exhaust, green cotton panel filter and had a mobile re-map done by Simon from JGM (in my sig) and got 340 BHP and 360 lb/ft
The car drives superb, much better than PPP and much cheaper too

Jeff, do you mind me asking how much the remap cost? (PM if you'd rather).

I have a standard STi and am thinking of going down the route you've gone.

Thanks

as said a custom remap gets far better results and is far cheaper than the PPP for the 06/07 sti.

PM sent mate, only because I'm unsure how others feel about posting prices!
I will also add that there are other mobile re-mappers on here also with excellent reputations, such as Duncan above who posts as dynamix

Definitely worth getting done though mate, it was like getting a new car after having it mapped properly

Jeff.

Would'nt the PPP add value to the car though as it's a recognised official upgrade?

I've got PPP on mine and TBH - I wouldn't have thought it would effect the resale price much one way or the other.
On the other hand, modding a Subaru may well be more likely to scare off potential buyers - so who knows?

Default PPP

The reason I was considering PPP was the car is from a subaru dealer and therefore will have the 12 month auc cover. Worried that anything else invalidates this

I have had 2 PPP cars and have now gone down the Ecutek / Milltek / Walbro route.
The Ecutek remap makes the car far more enjoyable to drive.
It depends how much you value your warranty.

I am moving from an E60 M5 where you would be the maddest person in a room full of mad people to do anything which invalidated the warranty.

Never owned a subaru so have no real idea whether the warranty is necessary or not = any views?

When does the warranty run out ??

The ppp is good point when coming to sell, but rather expensive for what you get, if your looking at keeping the car for a few years go remap . If I did it all again I think I would now have an open source map purely because of the extra cost involved with ecutek.
