Default Oil Temp Issue

heya, now that I have my gauges installed and set up.

Is it normal for the Oil temp to be at around 90-95. I'm just been driving her around town but not giving it some. Is there other factors like the outside temp. Its very hot today.

I was believing normal 88-90.

Just curious, my oik pressure is ok.

Cheers

Oh and the sensor is on cylinder 3 where the bung is or was.

I would say that's about right for a hot day, mine is usually between 90-100 on a hot day.

If stuck in traffic I have seen it creep upto around 104 ish

Mine sits all day at 90 on my Defis, unless I'm driving motorway speeds etc when it's reached 100 or so.

Highest I ever saw was 120...........just after the big end bearings went

That temp is no problem at all.

Mine used to sit at about 90, but since the remap it bobbles around 95, but it is due an oil change, although it's not done many miles, but when she does run, she gets used

Now to dig out the 'what oil' threads, the Opie listings seem a bit thin (5w-30)

After a few days with the new gauges I've noticed that it was probably due to hot weather. I drive from brid to driff for work and she sits at 90.

So just me panicking. But notice dit does take some time to get up to temp though lol.

Takes about twice as long for the oil temp as the water temp during normal diving in my experience.
