Help Please... - Clutch pedal not working after car has stood for a while
I've not been using my 1999 STI much for the last couple of years due to having a company car...
Its only really moved up & down the drive & down the street every couple of months or so.
When I came to move it today the clutch pedal just sprung straight to the floor & and stayed there
I can pull it up but it & it stayes up, but as soon i touch it it twangs back to the carpet.
Any Idea's what I need to do?
It had a new clutch about 5000miles ago which is probaly about 2 to 2.5 years ago...
Thanks

hi m8 i had this prob also couple years ago, under your intercooler there is ur clutch slave cylinder and its probably that has seized due the **** gettin in to little plunger thing, get wee screw driver in open up the rubber enough to put wd40 tube in n give it a spray, then work lever and it should free off, ( or it 2 bolts to take it off...easy)
i did this and never had prob again
hope this helps

Just seen someone else's post & it looks like I have lost the spring...
presume I'll just need to get one from dealers any idea of correct name or part number???
Also I'm a bit puzzeled what it actually does as pulls the leaver the same way as when I press the pedal?
I managed to 'Pump' the pressure back into the slave cylinder & the peadl now functions ok even with out the spring.....
