So this week my renewal notice comes through from A-plan 1200 pounds, last year I payed 590. I ring them up this is the best they can do!!!!! I am 31 8 years no claims no points and I live in one of the best parts of Bradford.
So this week I have tryed to find a reasonable quote for my 2006 WRX and the best I found was around the 800 mark.
What is going on with the the Impreza as I can insure a brand new focus RS 100 pounds cheaper than I can my scoob.![Mad](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/mad.gif)

Have insurance company's joined the Government to kill the scooby for good as the sums for owning one are starting to look real bad.

I changed a £3000 Classic Impreza for a £19600 Honda Civic Type S GT.
When I notified the Insurance Company, 6 months left of the Policy.
That will be a REFUND of £32 Mr Lewis!!![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Add to that £110 a year Road Tax![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
More Torque than the Impreza at 340Nm![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Throw in 55mpg and, yes, sadly, the Impreza has had its time ............ the world has moved on and left Subaru at the 90's starting gate

Its sad but true, choose your postcode wisely. Mine is £500 per yr, full NCB, nearly 38(!), and insured ready for a remap to 'up to 400bhp'. Im in Oxon, so that makes the difference, Redruth, Cornwall was another matter!

Well I pay £500 fully comprehensive, protected no claims bonus (max of 9 years), mileage limited policy, 2 named drivers with a £250 excess.
My car is a JDM 2004 Blobeye Spec C which I think is in one of the upper group 20's.
Have you tried Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels yet?![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
Also Pete it is not surprising that you had a rebate after all you went from a group 18/19 car to a much lower group car.

Focus RS is still too new to have a high claims ratio.... give it a year or two.
You'll find all insurance is going up, some big insurers are apparently looking at a 30% price increase from September.

And to the OP.... in the insurers eyes there is no good part of Bradford.... sorry. BD postcode is an automatic decine 90% of the time. MASSIVE personal injury issues around that area.

Beginning of June, tested civic type r, focus st and clio 200 and once I got back in the scoob for the drive home thought why would I want put down another 5 grand for them three, when the scoob feels all round better.
The only trouble now is insurance, tax and mpg and that's what's starting to kill it for me.

I've recently gone through the annual agony that is renewal time.
A plan never called me back, sky was £750, Keith Michaels said they couldn't compete with my renewal quote and didn't even check. I'm insured for the 4th year running with Greenlight, no one can even get near.
30, 06 WRX with coilovers, anti lift, drop links, anti roll bars and LPG conversion, class one business use, 14000 miles, 1 fault and 2 non faults in the last 3 years, no points, reasonable postcode - £540

I was with groupama with a plan last year, this year they refused cover, I am 42 with 9yrs+ no claims, they have found me another company, £620 on a my05 jdm sti, birmingham postcode, think I will go with that, although I do still have about a week to shop around. Does this sound reasonable.

My Fabia vRS runs 312 lb/ft (420Nm), dispatching 30-70 in 6 seconds (verified) and easily pulled away from my mates 300+bhp Classic in a rolling start. He would however rape me in the corners, and mutilate my battered corpse in the wet
But, I pay 110 tax and get 55+mpg
Not 400+ and 17mpg ![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
As for the old 'run out of puff' gearing arguement, 130 mph to get to, and six gears to go through en-route; do the math.
