Default Difference between newage STi and WRX

As the tittle says does anyone know the difference between a WRX and STi?, all ive come up with so far is

6pot brakes on the front
550cc injectors
bigger turbo
bigger TMIC
better suspension
6 speed gearbox
and cosmetics

Have i missed anything? such as engine internals? headers, cams ? is it the same ecu with just a different map?

Reason i ask is i brought a 53 WRX PPP back in march and am after a bit more power, with about 1-2k to spend.

Thanks
Tim

Start with the shell, pretty much everything mechanical is different from that.
Oh and those are 4 pots on the front, not 6

Spend your wedge on uprating discs, pads, braided hoses, Whiteline rear ARB with solid droplinks before upping the power.

I was under the impression that the engine internals, the engines themselves where the same. Only difference being in the turbo, intercooler and injectors.

Also would a remap unlock many more ponies? with PPP its already at 265 ish, would a remap unlock much more without changing the turbo?

Thanks for the information so far guys, liking the idea of improving the handling and brakes. However if the difference between a WRX and STi is that big maybe id be better off selling up and buying a STi

Don't know about the later ones but bugeye differences are:

STi - semi closed deck block
WRX - open deck block

STi - forged piston (I think !)
WRX - cast pistons

AFAIK they use the same crank and rods

STi - VF30
WRX - TD04

STi - 550cc pink injectors
WRX - 440cc blue injectors

STi has AVCS (variable valve timing) heads, different cams and valves.

I removed the up pipe and centre pipe cats and fitted a Prodrive sports cat downpipe, remapped to 287bhp. You wont get much more than that without changing the turbo, injectors, intercooler etc.

STi - VF36/37/42 (JDM inc spec editions, 03-10)
