Default 627/550 Front mounted turbo

I have a project thread on here and is now near completion.
https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...o-project.html

It has been 1 hell of a journey and the fruits of all the hard work is now paying off.

Chy has install the Syvecs ecu is off to Scoobyclinic for mapping with Pat Hepburn

Pat has been texting me through out the today.

Latest results are.

530bhp at 1.8 bar with plain V Power.

Now with added 20% meth.

627bhp and 550lb at 2.0bar...

2.0bar is at 4k so lets say is quite responsive for a fairy large turbo

Race fuel map will be done after TOTB

Happy days and thanks to Pat,Scoobyclinic,Chy,Meercat,Lateral P and of course Greersport for making it happen toady.

The car wil be running at TOTB on sunday.

Good, and I enjoyed reading the thread, but hasn't Alan Jeffery managed that from a 2.1 on a "simple" twisted set-up using V-Power ?

I congratulate them for having the ***** to try something different and giving engine builders/suppliers/mappers/tuners the opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s already proven trying new components/combinations knowing fine well they may not work. The willingness to share their learning, good or bad, potentially saving us money in the future and ultimately providing us with better parts (i.e. new cam profiles, fuelling set-ups, engine components...). For having the patience to see it through which many others would not.
Remember if it hadn’t have been for that first person fitting a 2.5 crank to a 2.0l block with those first custom pistons and rods we wouldn’t have 2.1’s and 2.35’s today. If it wasn’t for those tuners pushing the 2.5 block to the limits we wouldn’t know what those limits were. If it wasn’t for tuners pushing the limits of the factory ecu we wouldn’t have the excellent aftermarket ecu’s available to us now.

Pray a moments silence....

As we remember all those who's engines have fallen along the way...

To 600+ bhp.

LOL

I remember when a 300 bhp classic Scooby made you a legend !

dunx

P.S. My point was that a custom front mounted turbo install should/could push things a step further ? Only my observation, not a criticism.

not just about the high end power figure either, the shape of the graph and then torque to power ratio the owner prefers etc

Thanks Simon,my thoughts exactly

I haven't seen the graph yet but according to Pat full boost of 2 bar is at a little of 4k and from that my thinking would be it will be similar to the Banana's graph but with less power.

What do you think Simon?
