Mines a J reg (but private plate )
They were made from '92, and the DVLA must have had proof of when it was new to be able to issue it with a J plate (as they issue them with age related plates). I wouldn't worry about it!

ah right cool mines defo getting a private plate once it goes through mot its good condition hasnt got 1 scratch or dent and got a few good mods its a project of mine
I would be a little wary of using a so called 'specialist' who doesn't apparently know their cars!
i didnt use him i rang them up to ask for a part he asked what year i said j reg he said cant be earliest they was made was k reg and that i should get my car checked out but now i have so im happy cheers guys
