Hi All,

Had some running issues for a while now.
Its been either piston rings or cracked turbo but nothing difinitive without an engine rebuild.
But last night, i was next to the car and when the ignition was turned on, the fuel pump made a funny noice, like it was out of fuel and makeing a gurgling noise. A lit like sucking through a straw in a glass running out of drink lol.
Then this morning, not sure if its in my head, I am sure I could smell petrol.
Now the running issue is the knock sensor is detecting knock ay 2500 and used to go right at about 2800, now it seems to last all the way to 4000.
Is there any comon faults on the fueling side on 2006 STIs? 2.5L
