Friend of mine is looking for an Impreza ..

I personally think for 4k you can get a classic, with low mileage and a few tweaks ...

Just wondered what the Scoobynet massive suggest ?

Depends on what he is looking for you could get a low millage uk turbo or bit of a track toy and I would of thought v3 type r should be around that budget if not the v3 RA could be to.

I would be hunting out a type r if it were me in White

Here you go, just a quick example. Sun strip not to my taste nor the lights but cheap to change but it has a simtec ecu mapped by jgm and that is a big expense on the v3 as it has to be an ecu change don't think you can tek3 map them or similar

I paid 4k for my 2004 wrx wagon with only 36k miles/full subaru service history. Cat d but no sign of damage anywhere and great buy at that money.
Dont be put off by cat d car's, there are some good ones out there, along with alot of bad ones so be careful.

tim winners selling a very tidy impreza classic on here for quite a bit less than £4k, your friend could buy it and have money spare to do what he wants to it.

Picked up my RB5 for 4.5k (though it had done 85k). To be honest though I wouldn't let higher mileage put him off - as long as it's well serviced and cared for it should run fine for ages.

4 grand will buy you 2 classics at the moment. You should be able to get anything you want bar P1's and 22b's. If your looking to buy nows the time.

Wait a bit and get a blobeye WRX standard. Newer, better car overall and quite moddable. Can follow in Andy F's footsteps doing so if one wishes. Anyone remember Scoobymag?
