If you had 4k to spend on an Impreza ..
Friend of mine is looking for an Impreza ..
I personally think for 4k you can get a classic, with low mileage and a few tweaks ...
Just wondered what the Scoobynet massive suggest ?

Depends on what he is looking for you could get a low millage uk turbo or bit of a track toy and I would of thought v3 type r should be around that budget if not the v3 RA could be to.
I would be hunting out a type r if it were me in White

Here you go, just a quick example. Sun strip not to my taste nor the lights but cheap to change but it has a simtec ecu mapped by jgm and that is a big expense on the v3 as it has to be an ecu change don't think you can tek3 map them or similar

I paid 4k for my 2004 wrx wagon with only 36k miles/full subaru service history. Cat d but no sign of damage anywhere and great buy at that money.
Dont be put off by cat d car's, there are some good ones out there, along with alot of bad ones so be careful.
