Default PPP exhaust. is it cat back?

Wasnt sure if the PPP for WRX 07 is cat back system or just back box?

I Assume if it is cat back, there is only second cat after the DP left as the OEM part.

can anyone confirm? thanks

I can only comment on the hawk sti, Of which the dp cat stays and the 2nd cat removed the car is replaced with straight through and back box.

When you say centre section do you mean the resonated piece?

Yes. I believe on the 07 hawkeye there is DP(with cat), cat section, centre section (resonated section) and BB. I might be wrong but thats my understanding. Think classics were just 3 piece.

Didnt know which bits were replaced with the PPP

On the sti the down pipe cat is regarded to be very free flowwing so this was left in and only the underbody cat removed. The resonated section is left in to make sure there is no intrusive cabin noise.

I spoke to dealer today who stated that along with BB they change the short section straight after the DP, which he reckoned didnt have a cat in it anyway.

Try prodrive tomorrow.....

Not on the hawkeye mate, Down pipe cat has good flow so was not replaced only under-body cat (small one) and back box along with ECU flash/upgrade.

think i get what you mean greatgonzo. My only point was that dealer told me that the short section didnt have a cat in it. I only assume i miss heard him or he was confused.

Do you think there is much value in replacing the resonator section with a SS section over the OEM part?
