Default Squeaky Seatbelt Tensioners

Hi all

After recently purchasing my 03 blob eye I realised the front seat belt tensioners started to make a nasty squeak noise every time they retracted. I have taken the interior panel off and sprayed the mechanism with some WD40 but it has made no difference. This is now driving me insane so was wondering if anyone has had the problem and if so how they overcome the issue.

I cannot find the thread right now, but there was advise on here not so long ago (possibly it linked off to NASOC) that had pictures how to do it. It's a simple fix. Basically it involved removing the plastic trim on the B pillar and cutting off some some of the plastic ridges on the inside that the belt rubs on as it goes up and down.

Worked for me (MY02), after living with the squeek for several years!

Just followed the guide and no more nasty squeak . Would recommend it to anybody with the same issue, took me 10 minutes to do with a dremel.
