Mapping session with Fiestaboy !
Well, I had to finally bite the bullet and spend some cash on the car,
After having it serviced last month with all fluids timing belt plugs and so on , a few weeks later the downpipe cat on my car started blowing a bit so decided it was time for a change,
I already had a walbro fuel pump fitted and straight through centre section, so thought what the hell I might as well de-cat as that bit needs changing , this meant a re-map to insure the safety of the engine , so bought a second hand apexi from flea bay and got on the horn to Fiestaboy.
Arriving at 8am at his workshop he got straight to work wrapping and fitting the downpipe, this didn’t take long and the Hayward & Scott pipe fitted perfectly , amazingly the gaskets where in perfect condition and re-usable , so that was some money saved and not a single bolt sheared ! yeey..
On to the mapping, we went out for a "quiet" drive and Richard set about his work on his laptop, gently starting off with 1 bar of boost and adjusting everything as we went after about an hour or so he decided he was quite close and we made our way down to the rolling road centre in Marlow.
Well what can I say , on the dyno he managed to squeeze another 3bhp from the car , testament to how well the car was road mapped I think
The end results where....with just a fuel pump, de-cat (standard backbox) and an apexi to manage it properly
298.6 Bhp / 299.6 ft/lb !
Bhp/Torque at fly wheel
AFR and boost (bhp at wheels)
Bearing in mind that the ambient temp inside the small garage we where rolling the car of 41 oC and no real air fed to the top mount and considering my old battered wagon has done 76,000 miles a great result all round I think !
After spending the entire day on my car I have to say Richard (Fiestaboy) has made a massive difference to the way it drives, my drive home (living near Brighton) was amazing the car is transformed !
Many thanks for a brilliant day Rich!
Dave.

Glad you're happy with it Dave - It drives really nicely with a wide spread of power.
I think the H&S uppipe is a bit too big a diameter, for a standard 2.0 with VF24 though
Enjoy

Thought I would add to this,
I did my regular fortnightly drive back up to Wales today and well..
Better fuel economy!!! , drove between 65 and 75 most of the time (mostly 70) a few blats here and there, 150miles on A and B roads with a few overtakes and the rest motorway , arrived after 291 miles with a quarter tank remaining!! (Including spanking it past some slow Folk up a few steep hills on the welsh lanes and 2 stops 1 for nearly an hour so add a cold start mid way)
Previously I could achieve a quarter tank left if i didn’t overtake anyone, and drove all the way at 60 including no fast stuff on the twisties this is a noticeable improvement! Still have fuel left to go buy fish and chips and make it to the supermarket
Once again big thanks Rich
