Default GAP security-car alarms-any good???

As above-GAP security are a national firm that use mobile installers.considering getting them to fit a blackjax system but aware that a badly installed system can be overcome.
Has anyone used them and if so-any good?

They are very expensive, and if you have a problem with the alarm, they want to charge you to come and have a look at it (even if it is under warrenty). I would never use them again.

Have a ring around local alarm fitters and compare prices. There are plenty of Clifford dealers around.

FYI: BlackJax isn't actually approved for use in this country and insurance companies don't like them. It actually invalidates some insurance policies.

Thanks for the info and have gone with my trusted installer...Why would it invalidate your insurance-I never had any issues with my last car...

I used them once, in stallers didn't seem to have a clue what to do?? No after service so to speak of, as mentioned above. USe a local installer IMHO.

Well, they were quoting 2 hours to fit a blackjax on a 335d, which I thought was a bit too quick.
Visited my local installer who phoned the head engineer at Clifford to get the ins and outs of the job-and it's a full days, complex job!
Christ knows what I would have gone back to,after a 2hour install!!!

are you just having the blackjaxx fitted? and keeping your current alarm? as the Clifford blackjaxx is a add on module, and if this is all you are having then 2hours is about right.

Yes, just adding the blackjax-have had one befor as part of my concept alarm.from partially listening to the conversation, the problem stems from the ignition-as it's the slide in block key...
