Can anyone recommend a FMIC for a 99 classic
Want one of the above for a reasonable price and dont want to modify my front bumper if possible.
Will the above be beneficial over a better top mount?
Seen many on ebay for good money but would rather buy a tried and tested intercooler.

Hybrid gt2 is a good fmic for the money. tried and tested. Harvey smith is your man to speak to about the front mount. I fitted a front mount (from harvey) to my 98 sti and had it mapped on the standard 440 injectors and vf23 turbo and if im honest i never noticed anymore lag on this setup. It wasnt untill i fitted a bigger turbo that i found it a wee bit laggier, but that will be down to fitting the bigger turbo i suspect. I dont think you will be able to fit a front mount without cutting your bumper. HHH123 is selling an avo top mount in the for sale section if you want to upgrade your top mount...

How much power are you going for?
Tried and tested in excess of 550bhp and for not much money: http://www.superhids.co.uk/special-o...kit-fmic-.html
Good project thread showing what is involved in fitted a FMIC to a classic, although your model will be slightly more straight forward as no modification needed to inlet pipe: https://www.scoobynet.com/technical-...r-project.html

Basically im wanting to break 8:20 round the nurburgring, ive been out there for the last 12 years but had to sell all my cars due to property investment.
The time of year i go its usually very hot and want the best way of keeping the charge air down, the car is also my daily drive so has to be reliable and due to later upgrades money permitting i dont want to remap just yet.

The one in the link will do the job nicely.
Although an STi8 TMIC is more than up for that power whilst keeping good throttle response, the FMIC may be better for sustained track work.
