Default crank oil seal

ive changed my t-belt today and tried to get the crank pully off as the keyway is bent due to previous owner long story but failed at gettin it off put the new t-belt on put it all back together and drove the car down the road so get a bad burning smell stoped to a large ammount of smoke cumming from under the car
the is oil everywer under the car all over the sump and headers i also removed the right side of the t-belt cover and there is oil everywer in the also so i think ive f****k the crank seal trying to get it off how hard is this to change once the belts off again
thanks any advice or guides would be a big help

Once you've got the crank pulley off it's a piece of proverbial - but obviously that's the one you struggled with last time around!!

The proper tool to get it off is costly, have you got a friendly garage that would lend you one for an hour? My garage charged me 3 bacon butties in return Otherwise its tricky, although i hear there's a way of putting an extension bar on it, bracing it against something solid then cranking the car to unlock it........ a search for crank pulley removal or similar on here should find you the thread that describes it properly.

I feel your pain as i had to change mine a few months ago, although i did do the timing belt while it was all apart - albeit 10k early. And yes - it is indeed a major PITA job for the sake of a seal that will cost about four squid!! Also, be prepared to change your belt too - if oil is really firing out of it then you may have contaminated your old one.

Best of luck!!

me, i think its quite easy, as its on the oil pump.
i normally spray wd40, leave alittle and have another go
but it may not be the seal, it could easly be the pump, as this is what happened to me
as long as the groove aint damaged on the crank, your ok. that would be the pricey part, changing the crank

easy fix then hay mate.
did you take the pump off to inspect the screws on the back of it.
always worth doing, also to make sure the seal seats right.
