buying bug eye help please
#5
Just got myself a bugeye about 2 months ago. Dont be tempted to buy the first one you see, have a look around first. Obvious I know buts its to easy to get excited!
The main thing I looked for was condition and history as opposed to miles. I went to a garage to look at one. Upon closer inspection there had been a few bits painted which is not the end of the world maybe but it hadnt been done very well at all. My view was if the owner did the painting on the cheap what else had been done on the cheap???
I ended up buying the one next to it which was the same price but with another 20k on the clock. It however had thousands of pounds of invoices to go with it, if it needed doing it got sorted properly.
Insist the car has not been run before you go and look, or better still turn up unannounced! This way you should have a better chance of picking up any nasty noises!
I always pull up the boot carpet when I have a look, easy way to spot rear end accident damage!
Loads of good threads on here if you do a search, I found them invaluable when looking.
