Most people seem to like the excellent handling. Best fun car, Caterham, what a blast

If you ever get the opportunity to do the full day, go for it.

It was a corporate event through my Wifes work, but I think you can book individually. I heard costs were about 700 pounds each. There were more than a hundred people there. We were then divided into teams. Awards were given at the end of the day for team position and individual performances.

It was a great day, worth every penny. Food and drink was also thrown in.

One of my suppliers invited me to the same day last year and the order of the day was pretty much the same line up as yours Andy except we did the Landrover off-road bit as well.

An incredible day, made all the more fun by the competitive element! And the best bit for me was the single-seater, purely because we were allowed to race (within reason) and we had a good few laps to really get in to it and post some quick times. The Exige was something else as well. Prefered that to the Ferrari and 911 in pure driving terms.

Funnily enough it was that day that really introduced me to track days and led to me buying my Bob Rawle mapped Hawkeye STI, which is currently at Chevron Motorsport having AP 6 pots (front), Tein monoflex coilovers, arbs, alk and a full geo set up, ready for my trip to the Ring and future UK track time.

So whilst the day out at Silverstone was free, it certainly resulted in a massive hole in my wallet later on!

To be honest the R8 wasn't overly noisy, German engineering. On the other hand the Ferrari screamed

I had a drive in the Lotus around Silverstone and it was incredible. Then a pro took me out and showed me how it should be done. What an awesome experience, the car just seemed to defy physics, braking so late I was convinced we were going straight off the track at every tern but it just gripped and gripped.

I agree it was a lot more fun than driving the Ferrari around which just felt heavy by comparison.
